Dr. Mara Lee Grayson is an author, educational researcher, and consultant whose work focuses on rhetorics of antisemitism and racism in higher education. Dr. Grayson holds a PhD in English Education from Columbia University and an MFA in Creative Writing from the City College of New York. In 2024, she resigned from her position as a tenured Associate Professor of English at California State University, Dominguez Hills to join Hillel International as the Director of Content Development for the Campus Climate Initiative.

Dr. Grayson is the author, co-author, or editor of five books. Her research and scholarship have appeared in College Composition and Communication, English Education, Teaching English in the Two-Year College, Rhetoric of Health and Medicine, Writing Program Administration, Writing on the Edge, and The Journal of the Assembly for Expanded Perspectives on Learning, among other publications. Also a poet, her work has appeared in Nimrod, Poetry Northwest, Pedestal, Tampa Review, and other journals, and has been nominated for the Best of the Net and three times for the Pushcart Prize.

She chairs the CCCC/NCTE Jewish Caucus and has worked with the Urban Scholars, Poetry Outreach, and Teaching Fellows organizations, as well as the professional organizations NCTE, CCCC, TYCA, and NJCEA. Dr. Grayson's work is motivated by her aims to create inclusive educational environments for today's diverse population of college students.
